AFC 700 Series Digital Control Panels

AFC 700D Control Panel The AFC 700 Series Control Panels are fully automated control systems designed for use with DFM800R and DFM2000 Heated Air Make-up Systems, but are completely adaptable to other systems as well. Each 700 Series Control Panel is housed in a rugged NEMA 12 enclosure, uses only industrial rated components, and is ETL listed.

Shown at left is an AFC 700D Control Panel. Initial settings and normal operation of the spray booth and heated air make-up system are as follow. First, the desired paint temperature is set on the thermostat. This one temperature setting will maintain the booth in a stable temperature for painting, flashing and cooling down. An additional second higher set-point required for the cure cycle must also be set. This cure temperature set-point is only active and accessible during the cure cycle. Next, the times are set for the flash, cure, and cool down as required by the paints and coatings being used. These time durations are generally determined by using the paint manufacturer's recommendation.

When ready to begin, the selector switch is switched to the PAINT position. Assuming that the burner switch is left in the ON position and temperature set-points has not been changed, the whole spray booth will starts and ready for normal painting operation. Note that the lights must be turned on with a separate, independent light switch. When painting is completed, the selector switch is switched to the CURE position. The air make-up and exhaust systems will then be automatically sequenced through the paint drying cycles without further operator intervention.

The AFC 700TS Control Panel, computerized control systems with touch screen interface, is the standard control system for our Quadraft Spray Booth and is available as an upgrade option on all other booths. Its features include either the simens CPU22x PLC and TP27 color touch screen or the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1500 PLC and Panelview 600 color touch screen. This panel utilizes a PID loop for controlling the fully modulated DFMxx heated air make-up system, giving a precise and accurate heat control system. It is very simple-to-use system that can also be customized to control any spray booth systems.
